Apricot Scrub Helps Fight Acne!
I have always suffered from acne since I was a preteen. I noticed that although the severity of it lessened as I became an adult, there were ever-present pimples that refused to go away. Fall break of my freshman year in college, I returned home to my family. After the seven hour Greyhound bus ride home, the first thing I wanted to do was take a long hot shower. Little did I know that this shower would change my life forever.
I hopped into the shower and noticed this orange tube in the hanging shower caddy. I read the directions, and began using St. Ives® Gentle Apricot Scrub. I never knew my face could feel so clean! Before the end of my school break I went to the drug store to buy my own tube of the scrub and was pleasantly surprised that St. Ives® Gentle Apricot Scrub comes in a medicated formula as well- especially made for oily, acne prone skin, which has been my skin problem since adolescence.
St. Ives® Gentle Apricot Scrub combines mild exfoliant beads with a creamy, wonderful smelling formula. The exfoliants allow you to clan deeply into your pores. Doing so removes dead surface cells and reveals the new smooth skin cells underneath. This product won’t dry your skin and it won’t clog your pores. The apricot is rich in vitamins and nutrients which help replenish the skin.
Medicated St. Ives® Apricot Scrub contains salicylic acid which has been proven to be effective in treating acne, blackheads and blemishes. This medicated formula is oil free which is perfect for those who, like myself, suffer from oily skin. The formula helps to keep oil to a minimum which facilitates clear, blemish- free skin.
Acne has been one of my biggest problems in terms of my appearance. In the past I would purchase cosmetic sponges to absorb all of the excess oil that would settle on my skin. I would literally look like I rubbed my face with baby oil three hours after I scrubbed my face to a dry, matte-like finish. Once I started using this scrub, I still had to use the sponge, but not nearly as often. Maybe six or seven hours after washing my face, I’d start to notice an oily shine. I did notice that whenever I’d wear makeup the oil would develop a little faster, but that’s usually the case no matter what acne product you use.
